Local agencies provide resources and support for older adults raising children of addicts.

The Tennessee Commission on Aging and Disability estimates that 77,000 grandparents are raising grandchildren, and their number is growing because of opioid addiction. Local agencies are trying to meet the needs of this population by providing resources and support for relative caregivers, most of whom are over age 50.
