Scathing Department of Justice report on violations during pandemic and beyond
The U.S. Justice Department has slammed the state for failing veterans in two state-run nursing homes. In a scathing report, issued Thursday, it said the facilities “violated the 14th amendment rights of residents” during the COVID-19 pandemic and those violations continue. It said residents are still at high risk for serious infections and illness.
