On June 1, the average monthly bill for electricity will increase 3.3% to 6.9%

Get ready to pay more for electricity, but not until the summer. On Wednesday, the state Board of Public Utilities approved the results of the state’s annual electricity auction, which determines in part the cost of electricity for most New Jersey residents and many businesses. Starting on June 1, the average monthly bill will increase from 3.3% to 6.9% depending on a customer's utility provider.
