State monitor begins oversight of scandal-plagued university

Interview: Henry Amoroso, state monitor of New Jersey City University

More than a year after trustees declared that New Jersey City University was in a financial crisis, the Murphy administration has appointed a monitor to guide its turnaround efforts. Henry Amoroso, a consultant who specializes in restructuring budgets for governments, nonprofits and private companies, will have oversight of all fiscal and staffing issues at the school in Jersey City.
