Judge tells union that engineers must show up for work on Labor Day
A possible strike by New Jersey Transit engineers is still looming after a federal judge blocked the transit agency’s request for an injunction to stop engineers from walking off the job. The 500 members of the NJ Transit Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen are currently voting on whether to authorize a strike, with a voting deadline of Aug. 31.
