In May, the majority of casinos in New Jersey saw a revenue drop from in-person gambling, the second consecutive month of decline. Last month, the industry brought in an estimated $227 million in revenue from in-person gambling, 2.5% less than in May 2022, according to the state Division of Gaming Enforcement.

That's the second month in a row there's been a decline, bringing in just over $227 million.
About two and a half percent less than in May 2022, according to data released this week from the State Division of Gaming Enforcement.
In-person gambling is considered a key metric for the health of casinos.
Experts say the new data reveals traditional gaming like slots and table games.
They're just not growing as quickly as newer products think online Sports betting.
Internet gambling, though, helped boost overall gaming revenues, raking in more than $470 million for the state.
That's a 9% increase from last year.
And despite fewer people heading to a brick and mortar spot to place their bets.
Atlantic City's in-person casino revenue for the entire market is actually above 2019 levels.
